It is the mission of the Academic Tutoring Center to provide the best FREE useful resources available to meet the needs of all students registered at Fort Valley State University in academic programs.
This endeavor is accomplished through peer tutoring designed to provide one-on-one assistance and small group support to undergraduate students completing the Core requirements. Tutors share their knowledge of the subjects with students, explaining difficult concepts, steps and methods, giving examples and being a sounding board to illuminate problems.
Tutors impart encouragement, inspiration, motivation and provide confidence to students enabling them to keep a positive attitude and succeed in their courses.
The Center's goal is for students to become independent learners with an interest in lifelong learning.
ACADEMIC TUTORING is located in Peabody 219. It is part of the Center for Retention Services which provides academic assistance to students at Fort Valley State University. It also includes referrals to other campus labs: Math Lab, Reading Lab and the Writing Lab. Come by our facility and check it out.
Tutoring begins the second week of the semester
