COMPASS Testing for Employment

The Testing Services Center offers COMPASS testing to adults (non-students) for employment purposes upon request. The cost for testing is $20.00. There is an additional fee of $5.00 for the development of and/or the mailing of an official score report. Acceptable forms of fee payment are: cash, money order or cashier check. COMPASS Placement and Admission Test

Fort Valley State University requires certain designated applicants to be administered the COMPASS for placement and admission purposes. The COMPASS is administered to all applicants who fail to meet the University System of Georgia’s minimum entry scores on the SAT/ACT (see table below). The purpose of the COMPASS is to obtain an assessment of students’ academic preparedness to undertake college-level course work. The COMPASS is a computerized adaptive testing system consisting of three measures: English, Reading, and Mathematics.
