Final Candidates Announced
Update: The itinerary for the four finalists' campus visits has been modified. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the Open Forum, where candidates will make a one-hour presentation, including the Question-and-Answer sessions.
The Presidential Search and Screen Committee recently announced the finalists for the Fort Valley State University’s ninth president.
“On behalf of the Fort Valley State University Presidential Search and Screen Committee, I am pleased to inform you that on May 17, 2013, we concluded our Neutral Site Interviews of the candidates invited to the First Round,” said Dr. Meigan Fields, committee chair. “We have selected four highly qualified, experienced and talented individuals as our final slate of candidates for recommendation to University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby and the USG Regent Larry Ellis, chair of the Special Regents’ Search Committee.”
Following a review of the four candidates, Huckaby and Ellis will make a recommendation to the Board of Regents, who then will select a new president of Fort Valley State University.
The final four will participate in campus visits from May 28 to June 3. The hour-long forum for candidate presentations begins at 3:30 p.m. in the C.W. Pettigrew Center auditorium on each date. The FVSU family and community are encouraged to attend.
