You will use the IRS Data Retrieval tool to complete the 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you are selected for the verification process, IRS tax transcripts are required and not paper tax returns. In addition, we streamlined to more paperless processing and have updated the Award Offer and Parent Plus Loan application features.
- Banner Web Online Terms and Conditions and Award Acceptance
You MUST now accept the financial aid terms and conditions agreement to receive free aid, loans, and work study. Also, you have to accept specific financial aid awards online through Banner web. These Banner web changes provide you the ability to accept, decline, or reduce individual funds. The following federal financial aid awards are awarded in an “Offered” status. You will need to accept, decline, or reduce the award. If you fail to do so, the funds will not be processed and posted to your student account:
- Federal Work Study
- Federal Direct Subsidized Loan
- Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan
PLUS Loans will be packaged for students to meet the gap in a student’s financial aid package. The PLUS Loan is awarded in an “Estimated” status. If the parent borrower wishes to accept or reduce the award, the following must occur:
- Apply for a PIN if the parent borrower does not have one.
- Login to www.studentloans.gov and complete the PLUS Loan Application.
- Indicate on the application whether any refund needs to be disbursed to the parent borrower or the student.
Aid awarded in an “Offered” status must be Accepted, Declined, or Reduced by the student. You will have to submit your change and will immediately see your updated financial aid award status. Further award changes will require you to visit the Office of Financial Aid to put the changes in writing. CLICK HERE
