Fort Valley State University will host its 29th annual scholarship luncheon at noon, Monday, Feb. 15, 2016.
Themed “Celebrating Scholars,” the event is the largest single-day fundraiser providing scholarships for FVSU students. The luncheon will be held in the university’s Health and Physical Education Complex. U.S. Congressman Sanford Bishop and Georgia Rep. Calvin Smyre will serve as hosts.
Ed Boston, an FVSU alum, scholarship luncheon committee chair and senior director for the Office of Career and Alumni Services, said the event is an outstanding opportunity for donors to meet the worthy benefactors of their generosity.
“This longstanding luncheon is always a well-attended and heart-warming event for FVSU students, supporters, donors and friends,” said Boston. “The benefits of this event for students is life changing, and I’m encouraging all our friends, supporters and alums to attend and support this worthwhile affair. Thank you for contributing to ‘Celebrating Scholars.’”
