Fort Valley State University students and their families can enjoy a day of fun and celebration when the university hosts its annual Parents Day on Saturday, September. 17, 2016, from 1 to 4 p.m.
“Parents Day is an opportunity for parents to return to campus and share some time with their sons and daughters,” said Leon Perry, FVSU’s associate director of residential life.
According to the administrator, the program is designed to bridge the gap for current students with the resources that the campus provides, as well as strengthen FVSU’s bond with parents and students.
During Parents Day, parents and students will learn information about university resources including academic programs, financial aid and residential life. Perry believes the event will help parents better navigate through the college process and encourage students to stay in school.
“The more parents know about what our campus has to offer, the more they can help students,” Perry said.
The event will coincide with FVSU’s Military Appreciation Day and the FVSU Wildcats vs. Clark Atlanta University Panthers football game at 6 p.m. in Wildcat Stadium. Tickets for the game will be available for parents to purchase.
