FVSU president names new chief of staff

January 8, 2016 –  Fort Valley State University’s new chief of staff is an attorney with extensive background in human resources and employment law.

FVSU President Dr. Paul Jones recently named Kendall D. Isaac to the post that will support the president in project management and the execution of strategic initiatives. Isaac also will provide supervision of the university’s human resources, legal affairs, campus safety and compliance offices.

President Jones said he was confident his new appointee will be a strong asset within the FVSU campus community.

“He is a great individual, and someone I trust a great deal and I believe will serve the campus well,” Jones said.

Prior to joining Fort Valley State, Isaac served as chief legal officer & chief human resources officer at Darton State College.  His experience in higher education also encompasses several years as a tenure-track assistant law professor and director of graduate programs and special projects at Appalachian School of Law.

Isaac’s professional career outside of academia encompasses practicing employment law, dispute resolution and workers’ compensation for a large regional law firm, as well as human resources and insurance claims management roles for Fortune 500 companies.

He graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in rhetorical communications, from Capital University Law School with a J.D. and a concentration in labor and employment law, and is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in higher education administration from Columbus State University.
