October 7, 2015 – Although the Wildcats fell to Alderson Broaddus University last week, the Fort Valley State University Wildcats are currently maintaining the top spot in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (East). They have a perfect record of 3 and 0 in the SIAC conference, and a 3-2 record overall, which include losses to two non-conference teams.
Dr. Joshua Murfree, FVSU’s director of Athletics, says the Wildcats’ winning conference record is the result of good leadership from the Wildcats’ coaching staff led by Head Coach Donald Pittman.
“I’m really proud of our team and our phenomenal coaching staff,” said Dr. Joshua Murfree, director of FVSU Athletics. “Even though we fight through adversity, these guys are solid and focused. We have a great coaching staff that work hard to keep our football team disciplined. We have not lost a conference or division game yet. We’re 3-0 in this area, and they will work to expand it this weekend against Kentucky State. Our success is based on our great support from administrators, alums, friends and we’re working hard as a team to make it. We’re one FVSU, one cause, one love, one team.”
