Fort Valley State University’s Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for a part-time instructor to teach undergraduate level Physics courses.

Responsibilities:

• Teach one or two introductory level Physics courses
• Distribute a course syllabus to each student in every class. Inform students of all course requirements, course evaluation procedures, and related course procedures
• Conduct regular evaluation of student’s progress
• Maintain accurate performance and attendance records and submit required reports on or before the deadlines
• Communicate with the department chair regularly
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum:
• MS degree or higher, with at least 18 credit hours graduate level coursework in Physics
• Teaching experience
• excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
• PhD in Physics
• Teaching at secondary level
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to teach the courses or perform the duties (a teaching demonstration may be part of the interview)
• Ability to communicate well with students of diverse academic, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds, including students with disabilities
• Ability to work cooperatively with others
