Ethics and Reporting Hotline Management
The Director of the Office of Auditing and Management Services shall be assigned overall responsibility for managing the University's Ethics and Reporting Hotline. The applicability of the University's Ethics and Reporting Hotline shall be consistent with the criteria of the University System of Georgia's Ethics and Compliance Hotline.
All allegations are initially received by the Director of Office of Auditing and Management Services, the Vice President for Business and Finance, and the University's Associate Vice President for Legal Affairs. Upon receipt, these individuals triage to determine how and by whom the allegations will be investigated. In all cases, the University President will be informed of the content of the allegation regardless of the apparent seriousness and will be informed of the preliminary determination of how the allegation will be pursued.
The Director of Office of Auditing and Management Services will be the primary contact for investigations and will maintain the progress of the investigation on the hotline provider's website. If possible, a target of 30 days for completing an investigation will be set. Extenuating circumstances may extend or shorten this timeframe. Access to case information shall be available only to those designated and authorized individuals in the affected departments or those responsible for investigating the allegations. All investigations shall be performed in a professional manner, documenting the results, and maintaining the appropriate levels of security and confidentiality. All results are shared with the President.
