Fort Valley State University Core Values Rank Order Scale
The core values of an organization are those values we hold which form the foundation on which we perform work and conduct ourselves. We have an entire universe of values, but some of them are so primary, so important to us that throughout the changes in society, government, politics, and technology they are still the core values we will abide by. In an ever-changing world, core values are constant. Core values are not descriptions of the work we do or the strategies we employ to accomplish our mission. The values underlie our work, how we interact with each other, and which strategies we employ to fulfill our mission. The core values are the basic elements of how we go about our work. They are the practices we use(or should be using) every day in everything we do.
The concepts that make up this Rank Order Scale is the completed product from the 2012 Faculty/Staff Institute where FVSU Faculty and Staff engaged in a collegial exchange on what should be the core values for FVSU. At the conclusion of the exchange, these concepts were shared by faculty and staff as possible core values that were important to the university. At this stage in this process, the planning team would like to narrow the concepts down to the most important based on your feedback.
With this in mind, these concepts require ranking based on the level of importance that you believe is appropriate. Please assign a number from 1-the most important to 20- the least important core value. Keep in mind that the planning team clearly understands that all of the concepts are important; however, it is important that we rank these concepts. Please only use a number once.
