Teach and develop lesson plans in conjunctions with the monthly theme
Assure the classroom operates within the guidelines and standards of the Fort Valley State University Head Start Policies and Procedures and the Head Start Performance Standards.
Work with parents both formally and informally, individually or in groups when the need arises.
Plan for equipment and supply needs in conjunction with team members
Conduct bi-annual home visits and parent teacher conferences
Provide for the health, safety and welfare of all children in the group
Complete and submit classroom and playground inventories three times per year
Maintain attendance roster, individual files on all children, and complete an initial screening on all children
Applicant must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Infant and Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related area. Significant experience and alternative training in early child care and development may be considered in lie of degree. Applicant must pass a drug screening and background check. Experience with children 3-5 is preferred. Current CPR and First Aid certificates are desired. Good Communications Skills flexibility and team work are requried.
