This position is the liaison coordinating with the executive management teams within the university on all aspects of facilities planning, real estate, and construction projects. Responsible for the operation of the Facilities Planning Department and providing guidance for the department, developing specifications and guidelines for new construction, renovation and modifications of existing facilities, and representing the university during real estate acquisition and disposition, capital construction projects, and regulatory and code compliance. Provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Vice President for Business and Finance.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Engineering, Construction Administration or related field and seven years of experience in managing and planning physical plant facilities or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge of basic construction safety requirements is required.
- Must have financial and business acumen for operations and construction budgeting and planning.
- Must have capability of multi-tasking and be project-oriented, requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, at superior, sub-ordinate and peer level as well as with external organizations, contractors and the community.
- Job requires excellent interpersonal, supervisory, and decision making skills.
- Must have competent PC computer skills with proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, project management programs and other scheduling/charting/flowcharting/diagramming software, such as Microsoft Visio and Project.
- This position requires work characteristics supportive of collaborative work efforts and a collegial atmosphere.
Preferred
- Master’s Degree.
- Extensive experience in college and university facilities planning.
