The University seeks a development professional with experience and success in foundation relations. This permanent position carries significant responsibilities, and with it opportunities for career advancement. The Director functions with a suitable amount of autonomy within a supportive, team-oriented and expanding development program.
This position ultimately reports to the vice president for External Affairs. The Foundation office is part of a University-wide, central development program, and supports University priorities, the College of Arts and Sciences, Graduate Studies, College of Agriculture, College of Education, and faculty/staff at Fort Valley State University. This person is responsible for cultivating relationships with Foundation Board members and developing new relationships with potential donors
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful development/foundation achievements, be a self-starter who understands foundation grant making to include the latest software packages, and possesses strong writing, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills with a focus on results.Productivity, a team-orientation, and aptitude for working in a large organization are required.
