Program Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics

Responsibilities: 

• Teach courses in food and nutrition and other assigned courses (teaching assignment may include day, evening, and/or weekend classes to accommodate nontraditional students)
• Review Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) curriculum and assist in maintenance of the accreditation process
• Integrate technology in the classroom and be committed to alternative methods of program delivery
• Develop and deliver web-based courses and participate in curriculum development and other academic functions
• Participate in the continuous assessment of DPD and student learning outcomes
• Provide service to the university and professional organizations and other academic activities
• Assist students in acquiring accredited Dietetic Internships
• Other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Food and Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences or a closely related field from an accredited university
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential

Preferred Qualifications:
• Two (2) years undergraduate teaching experience
• demonstrated record of cooperation with community and related agencies
• demonstrated success in professional and scholarly activities
• Two (2) years experience mentoring undergraduate students
