Child Development Center – Long Term Substitute

Responsibilities: 

• Assist teachers with planning and execution of daily activities in laboratory
• Provide guidance in absence of group teacher
• Serve as a role model for student participants and observers in Center
• Teach and develop lesson plans in conjunction with the month theme
• Assure the classroom operates within the guidelines and standards of Fort Valley State University Child Development Center
• Work with parents both formally and informally, individually or in groups when the need arises
• Submit appropriate incident/accident reports when needed
• Provide the health, safety and welfare of all children in the group
• Other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

Minimum:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience with children one to four (1-4) years of age in a child care center environment
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials in Infant and Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related area (significant experience and alternative training in early child care and development may be considered in lieu of degree)
• Pass a drug screening and background check
• Good communication skills, flexibility, and team work
Preferred:
• Current CPR and First Aid certificates
