The Fort Valley State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering Technology in the College of Agriculture, Family Sciences, and Technology. Fort Valley State University is a member institution of the University System of Georgia (USG).

The position is a 10-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Screening of applications will begin January 6, 2014, and continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2014.

The BSEET program is ETAC/ABET accredited.

Responsibilities: 

Reporting to the Chair of the department, the assistant professor is responsible for the following:
• Full-time undergraduate teaching in EET especially in the areas of electric circuits, analog and digital electronics, programmable logic controllers, microprocessor, transmission lines and technology, and microwave system technology. The typical teaching load is twelve semester hours.
• Laboratory development/improvement
• Student advisement and recruitment
• EET program outcome assessment results and continuous improvements for ABET
• Serve on departmental and/or university committees
• Continuous professional development
• Other job-related duties that may be assigned

Qualifications: 

Required
• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering Technology
• Minimum three years of teaching and research experience in the U.S.
• Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching
• Effective English communications (oral and written)
• Strong commitment for developing student technical abilities
Preferred
• Two years of industrial experience
