The Staff Associate/Systems Manager will assist the Director of Financial Aid by providing operational, technical and awarding support to the Office of Financial Aid. Primary duties will include maintaining Banner Systems, PeopleSoft, managing the Direct Loan and Federal Grants programs, and providing support during peak periods.

Responsibilities: 

* Manages the electronic processing of data for Direct Loans and federal grants programs, requiring proficiency with Department of Education systems such as EdConnect, CPS and COD
* Oversees the parameter setup, implementation and maintenance of the Banner Financial Aid System, including student migration, ISIR downloads, data conversion, and insuring data integrity
* Submits compliance reports and provides support for the day to day operations of the office
* Maintains the daily transmissions of files between Fort Valley State University and the Department of Education, including incoming ISIRS and outgoing corrections
* Serves as liaison between the Office of Financial Aid and IT staff to implement required systemic and software updates, and to create and modify reports
* Supports awarding staff by reviewing financial aid applications and packaging awards in accordance with federal methodology, state guidelines, and institutional policy
* Represents the Office of Financial Aid at FAFSA workshops and outreach projects
* Other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

Minimum
* Bachelor's degree
* Three years work experience in financial aid
* Demonstrated knowledge of needs analysis, verification and federal methodology
* Proficiency with Banner Financial Aid, including administration and reporting modules
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
* Experience with financial aid systems such as EdConnect, FAA Access to CPS online, NSLDS, and COD
* Ability to take initiative and provide leadership in implementing technological enhancements
* Possess strong analytical and organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and strong attention to detail
* Ability to work flexible hours/shifts
Preferred
• Supervisory experience
• Familiarity with Refund to Title IV regulations
