Orienation Information and Instructions
Congratulations on your admission to Fort Valley State University! For your convenience, and to make your transition to Wildcat Nation as easy as possible, we’ve compiled a checklist for you. Completion of these steps will make your status as a new student official:
STEP 1: Confirm your enrollment
To confirm that you will be attending FVSU, please visit FVSU Admissions and complete the Intent to Enroll form. There is no payment associated with your submission of this form. This is our method of knowing your plans so that we can best assist you through the enrollment process.
STEP 2: Contact the FVSU Academic Advising Center
Our dedicated advising professionals are available to assist you in selecting and registering for your classes. You may participate in advising and registration either in person, by phone or online, whatever is most convenient for you. STEP 3: Reserve your spot at New/Transfer Student Orientation
All new/transfer students must attend an orientation session. Please visit New and transfer Student Orientation to register for the session of your choice.

Whether you are a first year student or a transfer student, the FVSU orientation program will be an important experience. You will learn about your classes and campus life experiences, meet current students, staff, and faculty, and begin to build relationships that will last a lifetime.
STEP 4: Submit your campus housing application
All full-time students, under the age of 21, who have earned fewer than 60 hours of academic credit must live on-campus and subscribe to an applicable dining requirement.
Students enrolled in full-time, on-line classes and those who reside at the permanent address of their parents/guardians and live within 50 miles of campus are exempt from this policy with parental/guardian approval. Please visit the FVSU Housing Application and submit your $200 non-refundable housing application.
STEP 5: Verify your Financial Aid status
The Office of Financial Aid will communicate with studetns primarily through their Fort Valley State University email address and Banner Web. Students will be expected to access Banner Web regularly. Visit this link to learn how: Banner Web Tutorial
STEP 6: Submit payment for tuition and fees no later than Saturday, December 20, 2014.
Visit Student Financial Services for your options. All payments must be made prior to Residential Life Move-In Day.
