  • Student Leaders>

    • Greetings Wildcat,

Congratulations on your acceptance to Fort Valley State University! We hope that you are excited about your first semester and look forward to welcoming you into the Wildcat family!

      When to Move In:

Please plan to arrive on campus and move into your residence hall on Thursday, August 14, 2014 between 7:00 a.m and 12:00 p.m. Directions to campus can be found on our website at www.fvsu.edu. Once you get to the Wildcat Commons Residence Halls, volunteers will direct you to your building. You may also find your building ahead of time on a campus map.

In order to facilitate a smooth move-in experience for everyone, Campus Police will direct you as close as possible to your building. If you need additional assistance with University Housing, feel free to call the main office at (478) 825-6100 ahead of time. If you are a commuter student, report to the Wildcat Commons Clubhouse at 2:00 p.m. for Welcome Week sessions.

      • Pack Your Belongings For Ease and Convenience:

Orientation Leaders and Volunteers will assist with your move into the residence halls, and because many other students will be moving in at the same time, it's a good idea to mark all belongings with your name, room number, and residence hall. Be sure to have all small items boxed for easy transfer. There is no storage available in the residence halls, so items should be packed in cardboard boxes that can be recycled, or in soft, foldable luggage that can be easily stored in a closet or under a bed. Stackable crates and organizers that fit under the bed can also work well.

        • Programs:

As part of our Welcome Week, day and evening programs will be scheduled for new students August 14-17, 2014. Classes begin on August 18, 2014. Programs for new students will include the opportunity to participate in interactive informational sessions, networking with student leaders, faculty and staff along with some recreational activities sponsored by the Office of Campus Life. Comfortable attire and footwear are highly recommended. (Tenative Schedule of Events)

          • New Student Convocation:
            Friday, August 15, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the
Health and Physical Education (HPE) Complex

**All Students are required to bring: Men (Khaki Pants and White Dress Shirt) and Ladies (Khaki Slacks or Skirt and Button Up Dress Blouse). All requested items will be worn during Freshmen Convocation. **

(For the detailed list of items allowed by Residential Life please click here.)

Wildcats, we are anxiously awaiting your arrival, and if our Campus Life Team can do anything to help you with your transition into our Illustrious institution please do not hesitate to contact our office (478) 825-6290. We are located on the 2nd floor of the Student Amenities Building.
