Parents Day is a great opportunity to return to campus to visit with your student, and learn more about Fort Valley State University’s programs and services.

Parents will enjoy a variety of including tours, receptions, a traditional tailgate party, and access to an FVSU game.

When the full schedule and information on our online registration process is announced, an email will be sent to our parent email list. Registration for Parents Day 2016 will open on Monday, August 15 at 8 a.m. Make sure you are signed up to receive our emails by selecting “Register for Updates.”

When is the Fall 2016 Parents’ Day?

This year, Parents’ Day will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016.

What is the registration fee, and what does that include?

The Parents’ Day registration fee is free, 2 tickets per student. There will be a $10 fee each for any additional. The registration grants each registered family member access to Parents’ Day activities, the dining events scheduled, and includes special Parents’ Day souvenirs. Please note, the registration does NOT include game tickets, which are an additional cost. It is necessary to register and pay for all family members attending the Parents’ Day events. Only registered family members will be allowed access to the Parents’ Day sponsored events.

Does my FVSU student have to pay the registration fee?

No, there is no charge for your current FVSU student, but he/she must be registered to attend the Parents’ Day sponsored events.

Is there a limit to how many people I can register?

No, there is no limit on the number of people that can register. Please note only 2 tickets per student will be giving, the cost for additional guest will be $10 per person.

What events can my student attend?

Your student is invited to attend all Parents’ Day events and can attend for free with their student ID.

Can my student pick up my welcome packet for me during check-‐in?

Yes, if you are unable to attend check-‐in for the day, your student can pick up your packet. Please make sure your student brings his/her student ID to verify that they are your student. Check – in will be held on Saturday beginning at 12 p.m.

Where can I park during Parents’ Day?

Saturday, September 17, 2016. For Saturday’s event, parking will be available at the Pettigrew Center, located right when you come in the front entrance off State University Drive.

When should we plan to arrive? Do parents stay for the whole day?

Parents are encouraged to arrive Saturday morning @ 12 p.m. Events will officially begin at 1p.m on Saturday and end after the Tailgate party, however you are welcome to attend the game.

If I bought game tickets, how will I get my ticket? Will it be mailed to me?

Tickets will not be mailed. They will be given out at Parents’ Day Check-In on Saturday, September 17, 2016.

I want to sit with my student at the game. What do I need to do?

The only seating assignment is in the priority section only. The other areas are first come first serve.

Are tickets available for those who do not register for Parents’ Day?

Yes, we sale tickets at the window.

I have registered for Parents’ Day. When do I receive my confirmation e-mail?

Confirmation emails are sent out in the order the registrations are received and are not automatically generated. Please allow up to 24 hours after registering to receive your confirmation email. If you register on a weekend, your confirmation email will not arrive until the following business day. If you do not receive your confirmation email after 24 hours, contact us at Residential Life.
