Power Jamz hosts season’s first ‘Jammin in the Café’

Fort Valley State University’s campus radio station, Power Jamz 96.9, kicks off the 2016 fall semester of “Jamming in the Café” event Thursday, September 22 in the FVSU cafeteria.  Occurring every Thursday, September through December, ‘Jamming in the Café’ is sponsored by Power Jamz, FVSU Office of Campus Life and Sodexo.

This week, “Jamming in the Café” will broadcast the “Tex James Radio Show” live on campus from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Special Fort Valley State University guests will be highlighted throughout the broadcast. Additionally, RCA records recording artist Ayo Jay will perform along with North Carolina poet/rapper Quaz. During the event, the campus radio station plays music, features live performances by recording artists and host contests for students to win prizes during the dinner hour.

About Power Jamz:

The campus radio station started “Jamming in the Café”  in 1993 as a way for students in the FVSU Department of  Media Studies to learn how to host shows before a live audience and how to operated DJ equipment.
