Transfers

Transfer Students are students who seek admission to the University after matriculating at a different institution.

As a Transfer applicant you should submit the following:

  • A complete Application for Admission
  • The required application fee ($20.00)
    • A credit card is needed to apply on-line
    • Mail in – a cashier’s check or money order only made payable to: Fort Valley State University
  • A complete Certificate of Immunization form
  • An official college transcript from each college attended

If less than 30 semester/45 quarter hours the following additional documents are required:

  • Official SAT/ACT scores
  • Official High School Transcript

Transfer students are considered for admission subject to certain conditions.

  • Transfer from a fully accredited college or university.
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or better (computed on all hours attempted at previously attended colleges and/or universities).
  • Submit official transcripts from all institutions previously attended.
  • Be eligible to return to the college or university from which he/she is transferring (i.e. the student has not been dismissed for academic or other reasons).
  • Must meet Freshman Requirements (as stated under Traditional Freshmen Requirements) if transferable hours are less than 30 semester/45 quarter hours.
