Chad Hebner is the Chief Information Officer at Fort Valley State University. Hebner is an information technology professional who has worked in the government/non-profit arena in Washington, DC for eighteen years. He has extensive experience in information security as well as telephony, networking, database design, business intelligence, and information management.
After over a decade working with the American Red Cross at the national level, Chad moved on to serve as a regional director for the Novant and Sentara hospital systems in Northern Virginia. He also served as the project manager and ISSO (Information System Security Officer) for the Department of Homeland Security’s ELIS (Electronic Immigration System) and its deployment. His recent activities include work with a Washington, DC metro area nonprofit which supports and places differently-abled individuals in employment opportunities.
Chad holds over fifty certifications in various IT disciplines and systems. Additionally, he has earned a bachelor of science degree in international business and a master of science degree in applied psychology, and is currently completing his PhD in psychology. He is a father to three daughters, Arianna, Caitlyn, and Gabriella, and enjoys surfing and golfing.
