Daria Turner is an enrollment associate and recruiter at Fort Valley State University. The native of Hinesville, GA, by way of Warner Robins, GA, is a 2015 Fort Valley State University graduate. While a student at FVSU, served as president of the Psychology Club for over two years. While carrying the presidential title, she worked with several organizations on campus such as the Royal Court, Student Government Association, and several of FVSU’s fraternities and sororities. She also served the community by working with non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity. Prior to attending FVSU, she had the opportunity to receive her high school diploma and graduate early, but instead chose to participate in the work-based study program and enroll in their dual and joint enrollment programs.

In 2016, Ms. Turner returned to FVSU to work in the Office of Management and Fiscal Operations. Later that year, she joined the Office of Recruitment and Admissions to serve as a recruiter and encourage students to believe in themselves against all odds. Since her return, she has traveled to numerous cities and 4 states as part of her role. Some of the areas included in her recruiting territory are GA (Peach County, Houston County, Macon County, Crawford County, Troup County, and Muscogee County), AL, and TX.

With her counseling background, Ms. Turner believes in the importance of pushing the younger generation to believe in themselves and to never give up on their dreams, no matter what obstacles will come their way. She believes, as Confucius did, that the will to win, the desire to succeed, and the urge to reach your full potential are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.
