Ti-Jean and His Brothers Play

In conjunction with Fort Valley State University’s third annual Research Day, the university’s Joseph Adkins Players will perform “Ti-Jean and His Brothers” on Monday and Tuesday, April 8-9, 7 p.m., in the Pettigrew Center auditorium. The allegorical play, by Caribbean Nobel Prize-winning poet Derek Walcott, will be produced by Dr. Maisha Akbar, an FVSU assistant professor of speech. The 1958 morality play is based on dreamer Ti-Jean, and his two brothers, who must find innovative ways to overcome evil and confront the dangers of colonization.

The event is free for students with identification, and $5 for the public.
