About Our Guest Speaker
Colonel Jeffrey Fletcher was born in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. He is a distinguished military graduate of the Florida A&M University Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program in Tallahassee, Florida. He graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry. He earned a Master’s of Science degree in administration from Central Michigan University in 2001.
Colonel Fletcher served as an Infantry platoon leader in 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry, Third Infantry Division, in Kitzingen, Germany from January 1990 to June 1991. He later served as the XO for 1st Battalion, 50th Infantry, Ft. Benning, Ga., prior to assuming command of B Company, 30th AG Battalion (Reception) from April 1993 to June 1995. Colonel Fletcher then served as an advisor to Reserve Component and National Guard AG and Finance units located throughout Indiana and Ohio from 1995 to 1997. From 1997-2000, he served as the board recorder and later chief of the DA Secretariat for Senior Enlisted Selection Boards at the Enlisted Records and Evaluation Center (EREC), in Indianapolis, Ind. He subsequently served as the executive officer, 55th Personnel Services Battalion, Hanau, Germany, from 2001-2003. Colonel Fletcher served on the army staff from 2003-2004 as the executive officer to the army deputy G1. From 2004 to 2006, he served as an assignment officer with Human Resources Command and Senior Leader Development. He then commanded the US Army Garrison Mannheim from June 2006 to August 2009. Most recently, he served as the Deputy C1/G1 Third Army, US Army Central in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait from August 2009 to June 2010.
Colonel Fletcher’s military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, the Adjutant General Officer Advanced Course, Combined Armed and Services Staff School, the Command and General Staff College and the US Army War College.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Staff Identification Badge, parachutist Badge and the Ranger tab.
COL Fletcher is married to the former Patricia Ann Nettles from Columbus, Ga.
