In addition to Geography service courses, which are offered both for general education and to provide backgrounds for other major area of study, there is also a minor available in the field.
The study of Geography presents a unique perspective regarding the significance of the position of the planet Earth. In many respects, Geography is the foundation on which historical time, economic production and social relationships have existed and will continue to exist. Moreover, now that global warming is of great concern in the world, Geography offers the opportunity to understand climatic issues and other problems affecting the global environment.
Courses that could be selected as minor are contained undergraduate catalog. Any 15 credit hours of Geography courses (including the prerequisites listed in the catalog) will meet the minimum requirements for a minor in Geography.
