August 1997-March 1999: Research Fellow, Department of Entomology, Kansas State University.
Duties: Researched on the sex pheromone of lygus bugs. Investigate the chemical cues needed by a parasiod of Callosobruchus species to locate the host.
March,1997-July 1997: Research Fellow, Department of Entomology, Mississippi State University.
Duties: Carried out bioassies to determine the efficacy of the synthesized sex pheromone of Callosobruchus maculatus and C. subinnotatus. Demonstrated the efficacy of the pheromones in the field.
September 1983- March 1997: Professor, Reader, Senior Lecturer, Lecturer, Abia State University, Nigeria.
Duties: a) Conducted research on the oviposition pheromones of the bean beetles and resistance of grain varieties to storage Insects. Researched into host palnt resistance (HPR) in maize varieties, bambarra groundnuts and cowpeas.
b) Participated in extension work with farmers in Eastern Nigeria. Monitored the incidence of storage insects from farms to storage. Recommended appropriate control measures.
Assisted farmers in the use of controlled atmospheres in the dis-infestation of their commodities particularly dried cocoa beans and cowpea.
December 1982-August1983 Senior Research Officer, Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute. Kano, Nigeria.
Duties: Researched resistance of peanut varieties to insect pests. Identified varieties resistance to red flour beetle and Indian meal moth. Screened insecticides for use in stored products. Supervised large scale fumigation for the National Peanut board. This saved at least 25% of the harvested peanuts from insect damage.
