Office of Vice President for Academic Affairs

The Office of Vice President for Academic Affairs is responsible for oversight of the academic programs and policies of the university. In that capacity, the office provides a variety of support services to individual colleges, faculty and students, including operation of the university’s research and planning, academic success center, Cooperative Developmental Energy Program (CDEP), library, registrar, learning support and other faculty development opportunities, certain aspects of enrollment management, and collaboration on a number of initiatives to improve student success.

Positions reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs are the Associate Vice President of Institutional Research and Planning, Deans for the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Agriculture Home Economics and Allied Programs, College of Education, and Graduate Studies and Extended Education. The Directors of the Academic Success Center, University Library, Registrar, Learning Support, and Special Programs also report to the VPAA.

The office also serves a the point of contact for external constituents on issues related to academic affairs such as the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and other accrediting bodies.
