The Electronic Engineering Technology Program offers a 2-year Associate of Science Degree as well as the 4-year Bachelor of Science Degree. The 4-year BSEET Degree is the only one of its kind available in any of the middle Georgia colleges and universities. One advantage still enjoyed by the program at FVSU is small class sizes in technical courses. This provides students with the opportunity to receive individualized attention in their training. Recently, laboratories facilities and equipment for the program have been upgraded and modernized to provide relevant and practical experiences.

Graduates of the Electronic Engineering Technology Program will be prepared for employment in a broad cross section of high-technology companies that produce or utilize electronic components and systems. Computers, automation in industry and at home, video and television, power generation and distribution, medicine, military defense and the expanding cellular communications system are but a few areas where EET graduates find positions.

Approximately 132 Semester Credit Hours are required to complete the program, sixty-five credit hours of which are taken in mathematics, physics, humanities and social sciences. The remaining credit hours are devoted to specialized courses in the electronics area. Among topics covered in the courses are basic and advanced circuit analysis; basic and advanced electronics; linear and digital integrated circuits; digital computers; communications circuits and systems; and microwave principles and applications. The curriculum also allows up to 13 hours for the study of special topics and projects of current interest, including practical industrial experience in electronics through the Cooperative Education Program and summer internships or industrial employment.

Requirements For Admission to the program are high school diploma (or its equivalent) and acceptable SAT scores.

Starting Salaries for BSEET graduates range from $33,000 to $40,000 annually.
