Dual Degree Programs

Students at GraduationThe FVSU-CDEP program has established 3+2 dual degree programs with Georgia Tech (GT), the University of Nevada (UNLV), University of Oklahoma (OU) and the University of Texas-Austin (UTA). Via CDEP, FVSU offers dual degree programs in engineering in collaboration with GT and engineering and health physics with UNLV. The programs operate in the following manner: students enroll at FVSU for three years and major in either mathematics, chemistry, or biology, then transfer to GT or UNLV and major in engineering, or students can major in health physics at UNLV. Students graduate with a B.S. degree in mathematics, biology, or chemistry from FVSU and a second degree in engineering or health physics from GT or UNLV.

The dual degree programs with OU and UTA operate similarly. Students enroll at FVSU for three years and major in mathematics or chemistry, then transfer to OU or UTA and major in geosciences (geology or geophysics) or petroleum engineering. Graduating students receive a B.S. degree in mathematics or chemistry from FVSU and a B.S. degree in geology, geophysics or petroleum engineering from OU or UTA. Also, the geosciences program gives the student the option of pursuing a 3+3 program that results in the graduate receiving a B.S. degree from FVSU and a M.S. degree from OU.
