JWDLS: Pooch Hall

Event Date:
Wed, 2012/10/24 - 6:00pm

You're invited to attend the 2012-2013 John W. Davison Lecture Series featuring Pooch Hall at 6 p.m., Oct. 25 in the C. W. Pettigrew Center auditorium. Hall is best known for his portrayal of Derwin Davis, a new and eager wide receiver for the San Diego Sabers, on the CBS Paramount Network Television comedy series The GAME, which originally aired on CW and now airs on BET.

Pooch is a trained boxer who won the Southern New England Golden Gloves in 1994. He also played football in high school and college. In an effort to try something new, he participated in a stage production in college and discovered that acting was something he truly enjoyed. He began his professional acting career in New York, when he landed a small role in the independent feature film Lift, opposite Kerry Washington. He went on to starring and supporting roles in both Independent films like “Black Cloud” and “Blind Dating” with Chris Pine for director James Keach and larger studio films like “Stomp the Yard 2” and the very successful “Jumping the Broom” for Sony.

On the small screen, Pooch currently worked with Jenna Elfman on the CBS primetime series “Accidentally On Purpose” and recurs on “Suits” for USA and “Warehouse 13 for Syfy.

In January 2013, Pooch will begin his new role on the much anticipated Showtime series “Ray Donovan,” opposite Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight.
