Kenneth B. Morgan

Ken Morgan is the Chief of Police and Director of Campus Police and Safety for Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia.  He has been the Chief at FVSU since June 2009.  Prior to this position, Morgan was a Special Agent III with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations where he served for 13 years.  As a special agent, he had the occasion to investigate Police Officer Involved Shootings and crimes involving public officials.

Chief Morgan is a former city councilman for the City of Milledgeville and former Baldwin County Georgia sheriff’s deputy. He is a certified law enforcement officer, police instructor and holds a State of Georgia Chief’s certification.  Chief Morgan and the Department of Campus Police and Safety were recognized by the University System of Georgia for outstanding contributions to the University System institutions in 2016. Morgan graduated from the University System of Georgia’s first Chief’s Leadership Initiative in January 2016. He oversees a department of 30 Police and Security Officers that provide security for the University 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Chief Morgan holds a Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree and a Master of Public Administration degree from Georgia College & State University.  He is currently an adjunct professor for the History, Geography, Political Science and Criminal Justice Department at FVSU.
