Research Interests: 

Biotechnology of medicine and nutraceutical plants to develop rapid/efficient protocols for in vitro plant regeneration/conservation in order to enable multiplication and genetic improvement of desirable speicalty plants germplasm and thwart undesirable overexploitation of medicinal/boactive plants. Phytochemical analysis and bioactivity evaluation for human health from selected specialty plants germplasm available at FVSU campus. Education educators through agricultural biotechnology educational enrichment for teachers at K-12 schools in Middle Georgia through teacher training, curriculum enhancement and academic facility development for biotechnology education at 33 K-12 schools in Georgia.

Specialty plants biotechnology with special reference to the medicinal and nutraceutical plants biotechnology including plant regeneration in vitro, genetic transformation, molecular techniques, bioactivity analysis, characterization, and evaluation. I am Vice Chairman of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Section of the International Society for Horticultural Science, and President of the American Council for Medicinally Active Plants (ACMAP).
