Jan. 15, 2010 – The accomplishments of Fort Valley State University President Larry E. Rivers are recognized in the newest edition of a prestigious business publication with a statewide readership. Georgia Trend Magazine listed Rivers as a notable in its annual “100 Most Influential Georgians” issue.
This is the second mention Rivers has received and the third year in a row that Fort Valley State University and its faculty members have received honors from the magazine’s editors. Rivers was profiled in the January 2008 publication; then FVSU was listed among the state’s “Best Places To Work”. Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Terrance Smith, Academic Success Center Executive Director Dr. Said Sewell and Mass Communications instructor Chata Spikes were included in the “40 Under 40” best and brightest Georgians issue in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
