University College

FVSU’s University College (UC) is designed to provide a higher level of academic and social support for newly enrolled students. Realizing the potential in all FVSU students, incoming freshmen who are initially admitted with as a Freshmen Limited status and meet the following criteria : SAT -Math (350), ACT (14), SAT-Verbal (380), ACT (13), or a high school GPA of 2.7, will be required to participate in the UC as a means to ensure their academic success.
Once these students have successfully completed college-level basic skills courses, namely ENGL 1101 (English Composition), ENGL 1102 (English Composition II), MATH 1111 (College Algebra); and MATH 1113 (Pre-Calculus), they will transition from the UC and will continue to be advised by professional advisors in the Advisement Center until they attain 60 credits hours, qualifying them as a junior.
