Undergraduate Research

The mission of the FVSU Undergraduate Research Program (URP) is to enhance student’s academic and professional success through increased participation in research. In addition, the program provides travel support to attend scientific, social science, and humanities conferences, as well as hosting the annual FVSU Research Symposium. Undergraduate research can be defined as “an inquiry or investigation conducted by an undergraduate student that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution to the discipline”-Council on Undergraduate Research. Early engagement in research increases both retention and graduation rates. The FVSU URP hopes that all students who wish to can participate in research while a student at FVSU.
