Undergraduate Research

VALLEY SCHOLARS

The mission of the FVSU Undergraduate Research Valley Scholars program is to support student research and creative activities in all disciplines and enable students and faculty to share research achievements nationally and internationally.

Through the FVSU Undergraduate Research Valley Scholars program, students receive support on research and creative activities in all disciplines. The Valley Scholars program enables students and faculty to share research achievements nationally and internationally. Students and faculty have several advantages such as participating in summer research opportunities and gaining financial support for their involvement. In addition, the program provides travel support to attend scientific, social science and humanities conferences, as well as assist students applying to graduate and professional programs.

  • The Summer Research Internship takes place over the course of eight weeks. During the summer internship, scholars will complete a research project under the direction of a FVSU faculty mentor and receive a paid stipend for their training (25-30 hours a week). The program will also offer speakers and other training workshops over the course of the summer. At the end of the program, participants will give a presentation about their research and have the opportunity to apply to be a paid Undergraduate Research Peer mentor during the next academic year.

  • Offering additional opportunities for students to showcase their research, the Valley Scholars undergraduate program hosts the annual FVSU Research Day each spring.
