ACT and SAT scores not required for FVSU applicants for 2020 Summer and Fall 2020

Posted on Apr 01, 2020

(Fort Valley, Ga.) - Fort Valley State University is excited to implement the Provisional Admissions Policy that was recently authorized by the University System of Georgia (USG) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting cancellations of the March and April ACT/SAT testing dates. Under the provisional policy, FVSU is able to make admissions decisions for students who do not submit test scores, but meet the first-year index and required high school curriculum. This change is only applicable for the Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 terms.

The provisional policy permits FVSU to continue offering a quality educational opportunity to a diverse and broader pool of students who have demonstrated the potential to be successful while continuing its commitment to attract and graduate highly qualified students. Students admitted under the provisional policy must still meet all other academic requirements.

"This is a great opportunity for prospective students who would like to apply to FVSU," said Jesse Kane, FVSU's Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. "Even during these difficult times, we remain excited about the amazing things happening at FVSU!"

FVSU Office of Admissions and Recruitment staffers will be reaching out to all prospective students in the near future to offer assistance in completing the admissions process.
