With God, All Things Are Possible: Jeremiah Arowolo’s Journey
Posted on Dec 04, 2025

Jeremiah Arowolo was born in Oyo State, Nigeria, where he completed his primary and secondary education and earned his first degree. Known for his focus, dedication and passion for excellence, he graduated with First-Class Honors (equivalent to summa cum laude) and received the Faculty Prize, Departmental Prize and Alumni Prize for best graduating student.
Following his undergraduate studies, he worked for several years as a health and safety officer across various sectors, including an automobile, agricultural farms and a health and safety training organization. During this time, he earned multiple international certifications, including the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), the Awarding Organization for Occupational Safety and Health (AOSH), and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). His expertise allowed him to train more than 1,000 individuals across industries, churches, high schools and tertiary institutions on health and safety practices.
With a desire to advance his education, Arowolo learned about FVSU from an alumnus. After conducting his own research on the university and various published works, he reached out to Adel Moawad, Ph.D., assistant professor, to ask questions about FVSU and its programs.
Shortly after, Arowolo chose to pursue his master's degree at Fort Valley State University. He left his home country to embark on a new educational journey in America, leaving behind his wife, Temitope, and their children.
As a graduate student, he became deeply involved in community service and volunteer initiatives. He participated in outreach efforts at the Georgia National Fairgrounds, where he helped distribute questionnaires and educate hunters about zoonotic diseases and safety.
Because of his expertise, he was invited to speak on health and safety at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Macon, Georgia, during a Mother's Day celebration. Additionally, he regularly volunteered at the Redeemed Christian Church of God Dew of Hermon food pantry, helping distribute food and agricultural products from the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank while ensuring community safety.
Arowolo also launched the initiative to create the public health newsletter. He contributed as an original author to the textbook, "One Health Model as Applied to Zoonotic Diseases." His commitment to public health education extended to rural communities in South Carolina, where he delivered a presentation on "Rabies as a Public Health Concern." At FVSU, he was invited twice to speak to first- and second-year Wildcats about history, culture, health and safety.
Arowolo’s contributions stem from his deep passion for protecting public health and safety. His academic excellence paralleled his service, earning him a certificate of achievement for Outstanding Academic Performance at the annual Agric-Demic Forum banquet, as well as an award for Graduate Research Oral Presentation at the Annual Research and Creative Works Symposium.
When asked about the most challenging part of it all, Arowolo says it was extremely difficult to be away from his family, although the sacrifices he was making were ultimately for them. Jermiah’s family joined him in May 2023, after being apart for six months.
Arowolo now serves as an environmental health specialist with the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH). As a family-oriented individual, he acknowledges the challenges of balancing work, school and family responsibilities. He expresses gratitude to God, his wife, and his children for their constant motivation and support. He is confident that he has made his father and late mother proud, remembering their joy when he was admitted to Fort Valley State University.
Arowolo encourages others to remain focused and trust in God, believing firmly in the promise of Matthew 19:26: "With God, all things are possible." He extends heartfelt appreciation to his wife, Temitope Arowolo, for her unwavering love, encouragement and support throughout his academic journey.
