Fort Valley State University President Paul Jones has announced that the university's fall 2020 semester classes will begin on August 10. Other key dates include:

  • New students move into residence halls beginning August 1.
  • Returning students move into residence halls beginning August 4.
  • A traditional Faculty/Staff Institute on August 6.

The FVSU administration is implementing a phased plan to bring faculty and staff back to campus. We will also take into account the safest ways to reopen the campus without compromising daily operations and the quality of instruction for our students.

Due to continued safety and social distancing guidelines that remain in effect, students are encouraged to complete all course registration, financial obligations and academic appeals remotely/online before returning to campus.

The university will offer in-person/on-campus classes with some classes having synchronous online components. Other classes will be conducted entirely online.

The fall 2020 semester will end November 25 and all students will leave the campus to help mitigate the spread of illness during the onset of flu season.

Additional communication on COVID-19 Protocols and what changes to expect when the campus reopens is forthcoming.
