FVSU students organize walk to support breast cancer awareness

The Fort Valley State University community is invited to attend the inaugural Wildcat Stride: The Pink Edition on Saturday, Oct. 28, 10:30 a.m. for a host of activities. Start your day off with wearing pink in honor of breast cancer awareness and join the campus walk from the Student Amenities Center to the historic quad and back.

The Wildcat Stride begins with visiting guest speakers, testimonies from breast cancer survivors and a self-check demonstration in the Student Amenities Center banquet room, and ends with a balloon release ceremony and refreshments.

Hosted by FVSU sophomore NaRon Usry and FVSU Student Ambassadors, Wildcat Stride is an awareness and fundraising program that supports breast cancer research thought the Susan G. Komen organization.

"The goal of this event is provide an opportunity for the community and university to honor breast cancer survivors and raise awareness in women and men about steps we can take to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer," said Usry.
