Wildcat pride was on full display Friday, October 23, 2026, as Fort Valley State University (FVSU) hosted its highly anticipated 2026 Homecoming Step Show at the HPE Complex. Sponsored by Attorney Joshua Palmer and hosted by Fly Guy DC, the event kicked off at 7 P.M., bringing students, alumni and supporters together for a night of stepping, live music and unforgettable entertainment.

In the women's division, the Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. claimed first place, while the Zeta Pi Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. earned second place. In the men's division, the Gamma Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. took first place, finishing ahead of the Gamma Zeta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., which earned runner-up honors.

Each performance brought its own personality and energy to the stage, keeping the audience engaged throughout the competition. The participating organizations were:

  • Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Zeta Chapter
  • Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Zeta Chapter
  • Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Upsilon Psi Chapter
  • Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Eta Chapter
  • Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Delta Beta Chapter
  • Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Zeta Pi Chapter
  • Alpha Phi Omega, Phi Zeta Chapter

While the Greek organizations brought tradition and competition to the stage, the entertainment lineup gave students another reason to remember the night. Belly Gang Kushington and YKNiece served as the main headliners for the 2026 Homecoming Step Show, bringing a concert-style element to the event and helping distinguish this year's celebration from previous Homecoming activities.

YKNiece also took the entertainment to another level, surprising the crowd by bringing out two special guests: OMB Peezy and BRS Kash. Both artists performed their hit songs and engaged with the audience, creating exciting moments that elevated the atmosphere inside the HPE Complex.

The special guest appearances added an unexpected highlight to the night; the artists connected with the crowd and contributed to the lively atmosphere that students had come to experience. Their appearances helped turn the step show into more than a competition, delivering a memorable blend of Greek tradition, popular music, and live performance. Together, Belly Gang Kushington and YKNiece's special guest performances helped make the event a standout moment of the Homecoming weekend.

The 2026 Homecoming Step Show represented a new approach to entertainment at Fort Valley State University. While the university's Homecoming traditions remain an important part of campus life, this year's event offered students something different from the familiar activities they have come to expect.

The excitement extended beyond the stage. A 360-degree photo booth, sponsored by Attorney Palmer, gave attendees another way to capture their Homecoming memories, allowing students and guests to document the evening and share their experiences with friends and family. He also surprised the first 10 FVSU students using the booth with $200 each, contributing an additional $2000 toward the event.

As Fort Valley State University continues to build on its legacy, one thing remains clear: FVSU is All That! Our Wildcats are proud of where they come from, proud of where they stand, and ready to keep stepping toward the future.
