FVSU Inclement Weather Update

Out of an abundance of caution and after monitoring the effects of Tropical Storm Isaias, Fort Valley State University has made the following schedule changes:

FVSU vs. Clark Atlanta Football Game
The Fort Valley State vs. Clark Atlanta football game originally scheduled for Saturday, October 10 at 1 p.m. has been rescheduled for Thursday, November 12 at 6 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.

Season ticket holders can use their tickets for the rescheduled game. Individuals who purchased single-game tickets will also receive a credit for the November 12 game. Those who prefer a refund may request one, and their refund will be granted. Contact FVSU Athletics at 478-825-6522 for more information.

Open House
The University’s Open House has been postponed due to the anticipated inclement weather and its potential residual impacts on campus and the surrounding area.
New dates for this event will be announced at a later time.

Dining Services
To support our residential students, dining services will be relocated to the Wildcat Commons Clubhouse on Saturday and Sunday.
Sodexo will provide meals at the Wildcat Commons Clubhouse during normal weekend hours.

Additional Campus Events and Activities
Upward Bound has been canceled for Saturday, October 10. All events utilizing University facilities have also been canceled. A decision will be made Thursday, October 8 regarding weekend classes.

Safety Reminder
Please practice safety first. Students, faculty and staff who are on campus are encouraged to shelter in place and remain indoors during periods of inclement weather. Please avoid unnecessary travel and outdoor activity, monitor official University communications, and follow all instructions provided by University officials and local emergency management authorities.

The safety of our FVSU community remains our highest priority. Please remain weather-aware and take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and others.
