Countdown to Commencement at FVSU: Here’s What You Need to Know (Fall 2025)

It’s commencement week at FVSU. Here’s what you need to know if you are planning to attend.

Undergraduate and Graduate Ceremony - 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, at the Health and Physical Education Complex: Approximately 236 students across all colleges and schools will be formally recognized at an indoor ceremony. The processional begins at 9 am.

Robert J. Jones, Ph.D., president of the University of Washington and esteemed alumnus, will receive an honorary doctorate and serve as the commencement speaker for the Fall 2025 Ceremony.

Graduate information:

All participants were emailed information on reporting location, time, parking, and student instructions. Please check your Wildcat email for detailed instructions.

Families and guests:

All graduates were issued (12) digital Commencement tickets. Tickets are required to enter HPE. Children 3 and under do not require a ticket. There will be no re-entry into HPE.

Guests attending Commencement are asked to park in the HPE and Wildcat Stadium parking lots. ADA parking spaces are available in these lots. Shuttle buses will be provided to transport guests to HPE.

All special guests are advised to travel via Ira Hicks Blvd, using Georgia 49 or Georgia 341, to avoid traffic congestion on State University Drive and Carver Drive.

FVSU has implemented a clear bag policy at HPE. Guests can bring one clear bag and one small bag per person. Clear bags approved for entry: A clear tote (12x6x12) or a one-gallon, clear plastic storage bag. Small bags (6.5x4.5") and wallets are allowed. All guests will be subject to bag checks. The following items are prohibited: noise makers, confetti, balloons, flowers, signs larger than 3’X5’, and more.

Commencement Program:

Programs will be distributed during the commencement ceremony. Digital programs will be available on the Commencement website on the day of the ceremony.
