Fort Valley State University leaders are encouraging Middle Georgians to take advantage of the downtime due to social distancing to upskill and advance learning and professional credentials.

FVSU's Continuing Education program offers lifelong learning opportunities and enrichment experiences to the community including a wide variety of programs suitable for business professionals, high school students, senior adults, and more. Many courses also offer certifications.

LuWanna Williams, director of the Center for Student Engagement, said FVSU's lifelong learning program provides a perfect blend of resources and certification offerings to provide a boost to those seeking personal and professional development.

"Fort Valley State's Continuing Education program is all about public service and outreach to our community," Williams said. "We are intentionally sharing our resources and expertise to those who desire it. And now that many people are spending more time at home, it is a perfect opportunity to commit a little time and effort to boost their skills. We make it extremely easy to connect with opportunities to grow and improve in an online, progressive learning environment."

FVSU's program Division of Continuing Education operates through a partnership with Ed2go to offer a wide range of convenient, engaging and affordable online continuing education courses. Some popular offerings within the interactive program include Technology, Writing & Publishing, Computer Applications and Business, GRE Prep, Grant Writing Suite and Learning QuickBooks Online.
