Management (old)
Study in management takes a critical look at strategy development, decision-making, operations, and personnel behavior within organizations such as businesses. This often involves understanding how these organizations are led, how they decide what risks to take, how they create a competitive advantage, how they leverage opportunities for growth, and what standards they hold themselves to. Management study requires a broad-based grasp of how organizations function and the outcomes of their actions.
Professionals with a management background are looked to as problem-solvers and team leaders, and often pursue careers as entrepreneurs, supervisors, operations and process improvement consultants, analysts, retail leaders, human resources associates, business strategists, customer service professionals, logistics personnel, plant operators, event planners, among a wide range of occupations.
Management students at FVSU earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in management. They take courses in subject matter including organizational theory, production and supply chains, project management, compensation, and training and development.
