The Legacy of HBCU Kings and Queens

For generations, Historically Black Colleges and Universities have upheld the tradition of selecting kings and queens to represent their institutions. These student leaders serve as ambassadors of their campuses, embodying scholarship, service, leadership and cultural pride.

At Fort Valley State University, the Royal Coronation continues this tradition by recognizing students whose contributions reflect the University’s values and commitment to developing future leaders. The reign of the 89th Miss and 19th Mister Fort Valley State University, Blanche McCluskey and Marquaveon Johnson, carries forward a legacy shaped by generations of Wildcats while creating new opportunities to serve and inspire the FVSU community.

As the University recognizes President Jones and First Lady Jones during their final Royal Coronation of his presidency, the ceremony serves as a reminder that while individual seasons of leadership evolve, the traditions, relationships and Wildcat pride that define Fort Valley State University endure.
