Students in fourth through sixth grades can attend a low cost, three-day clinic and participate in activities focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) principles.

The clinic, sponsored by Fort Valley State University’s 4-H Program, will take place from July 24-26, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Family Development Center located on Carver Drive. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch. There are 15 available slots at a cost of $25. Registration is due by July 17.

“STEM has become and will continue to be the new way of the world,” said Leslie Weaver, FVSU 4-H program coordinator. “Today science, technology, engineering and math components are around every corner and it is important for 4-H’ers to be aware of these areas of studies,” Weaver said. “We want our 4-H’ers to be well versed and prepared in the area of STEM, and we believe the FVSU STEM Clinic will give students that chance.”

The mission of FVSU’s 4-H Program, part of the Cooperative Extension Program, is to empower youth to reach their full potential while working and learning in partnership with caring adults.
