Nooks "˜Comes Home' as New FVSU Alumni Relations Director

Karyn C. Nooks, a Fort Valley State University alum, has been tapped to lead the institution's Office of Alumni Affairs. Nooks started her new post on Oct. 15.

The Atlanta, Ga. native most recently served as the Senior Enrollment Specialist and Senior Admissions Counselor at Stillman College, a private HBCU in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Prior to her role at Stillman, she was an FVSU Enrollment and Admission Counselor from July 2016 through October 2018.

Nooks graduated from FVSU in 2016 with a bachelor of business administration in marketing with a minor in logistics. As a student, she worked for two years in the university's Marketing and Communications Department.

In her role as the Alumni Affairs director, she will strategically initiate alumni programming that seeks to expands the university's ties to its 22,000 current alumni.

Nooks, who's known for her tireless work ethic, plans to use many of the strategies she's honed as an enrollment management practitioner to elevate her alma mater.

When she's not promoting Georgia's Top Public HBCU, Nooks said she will spend her time listening to podcasts, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Her favorite quote is, "Only the willing"¦be an indomitable force for good."

In announcing Nooks return to FVSU in the FVSU National Alumni Association newsletter and extending a welcome, LouAnn Gross said, "We look forward to supporting her in this position."
